Little Girl’s Flamingo Inspired Room
Hey friends and Happy New Year! I’m excited to share my daughters Little Girl’s Flamingo Room. The inspiration for this fun girly room started with one little girl’s obsession for flamingos or as she calls them her “Mangos”. My daughter LOVES flamingos and she has become quite the collector. Girlfriend carts them around with her everywhere. She plays with them, she sleeps with them, she even insisted on being a flamingo for Halloween. I’m not gonna lie, it is one of the cutest things I have ever seen. No matter where we, go that three-year-old always manages to spot a flamingo. Of course, she thinks she thinks we have to buy them all. Happened just the other day at Tom Thumb where she somehow found a stuffed Santa and cowboy flamingo that were $20 each! Nowhere is safe, even the stinking grocery store!!
Little Girl’s Flamingo Room
I first discovered this watercolor floral wallpaper from Anthropology on Pinterest and have always admired and dreamed about using it in a room. When I found this hilariously adorable wall flamingo head at Target, I knew the two would go great together and complement the room. I waited until Anthro offered one of their 40% off sales so I could snag it on a deal. This one wall required 2 rolls of paper and after watching a few youtube videos on how to install wallpaper, my stepmom and I were able to install this paper ourselves.
Bedding & Other Decor
The best purchases I’ve made for my kid’s rooms is the bedding. Beddy’s bedding is just as comfortable as they are cute. Not to mention their zippable design makes it easy for all three of my kids to make their beds without a fight. I chose to go with the white ruffle bedding so that it didn’t compete with the floral wallpaper.
The colorful pillows for my little girl’s flamingo room were all found at Homegoods as well as a few accessories in the room. Others found at Target, Walmart, and Hobby Lobby (classic favorites). The recycled glass lamps were found a Lowes of all places and I love how they look. To decorate the picture wall, I used old frames and spray painted them to the match the colors in the room.
Designing this space for my daughter was a treat and I love how it all turned out. My little flamingo loving girl has my heart and now she has a place all of her own. A nest for her to enjoy and call her very own with her flock of flamingo friends :).
