Hello School Year! I’ve had mixed emotions about sending my kid’s back to school this week. We had a fun-filled busy summer together. I enjoyed every minute with my cuties but was beginning to crave that routine that the school year brings.

At the beginning of our summer vacation, the kids and I made a summer bucket list filled with things that we wanted to try to do over the break. One item on the list was to run a lemonade stand with some of their friends. This literally took us until the last week to ~~cross~~ off the list, but it was well worth the wait! I can’t wait until next year to let them do it again.

We made a trip to the store to collect supplies the day before. The kids picked out everything from food to decorations (for the link to fairy cupcake toppers click here). They did a fantastic job! We spent the next morning baking up a small storm.

I was shocked at how invested my kids became. For hours we cooked, decorated, and packaged up all the bake sale items. It took us more than half the day. Surprisingly, the kids enjoyed the prep work nearly as much as they did running the stand!

Not once did one of my kids complain, bicker, or tease. These little industrialists put their mind on the project and produced the perfect day! We worked together, helped one another, and made everlasting memories.

It melted my mommy’s heart!

After all the baked goods were done and decorated, the kids packaged up and signed their names on everything they made.

This adorable lemonade stand was made by my friend and her husband out of scrap wood. They painted it white and attached it to a pre-built kids table. They did a phenomenal job!!!

We hung the banner and garland to the top to add a splash of color (pom pom garland found at Walmart). My favorite part of the whole day was seeing the excitement on my children’s faces every time a customer would stop by.

It may have been a hot day, but watching them take pride in their stand by carefully filling up lemonade glasses and politely saying thank you to all who stopped was the actual reason for my heart melting.
